THE CHILD - HOPE & PROMISE
Taran at Three
Suddenly
The constraints are too much to bear
It is time
He burst the cocoon
Of zippered footed jammies
And flies into tomorrow
The air shining
Cool and bright against his smooth
golden skin
Arms extended into wings of wind
Butterfly
Is too fragile
For this strong spirit
For these sharp starblack eyes
He emerges
An eagle
Rushing to taste
The power of the sky
